Your Tuscan experience awaits

What comes to mind when you think of Tuscany? Perhaps big, postcard-worthy cities such as Florence, Siena or Pisa. Or maybe rolling landscapes quilted by never-ending vineyards and olive trees. Or, if you’re like me, your stomach does all the thinking, replacing those city and countryside visuals with imaginary aromas and flavors of freshly made pasta washed down with glasses of Chianti Classico wine.

Let’s go with that last thought and not leave our appetites’ imagination hanging: After all, it’s time to prepare our palette’s for two of the six products that will be included in this month’s Tuscany box.

First up is a linguini with summer truffle. Really, I could just stop there, couldn’t I? But no, there’s still more to this Tuscan pasta perfection: It’s made with wheat germ, the usually-removed (for preservation purposes) heart of the grain that is famed for its tremendous nutritional value as well as its intoxicatingly delicious fragrance and taste. Also, did I mention the truffle?!

It will probably then be necessary to celebrate your crazy good pasta with one of the region’s most well-known treats, cantucci or cantuccini. Your bundle of biscotti (as they are referred to stateside) is made by the most legendary of Italian producers, making these almond-packed crunchy cookies the ultimate in authenticity.

There’s so much more to tell and taste when it comes to Tuscany, but for now you may want to hunt down a bottle of Chianti Classico to tide you over until we explore two more products next week.

A presto,
