Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil

It’s a fact that Italy has one of the best soil and weather conditions for olive production. Case in point, Italy is top 2 of the world’s largest exporters if olives. As a matter of fact, several Italian regions are producers of Italian extra virgin olive oil. Aside from being one of the top producers of fresh olives, the country also has the technology and capabilities of blending oils from other places to create high quality olive oil brands, which makes Italy able to sell more olive oil than it produces.
Cultivation of olive trees happens all over the Italian peninsula with 80% of it in the south, 19% in the central areas, and the remaining 2% in the north. There have been great improvements in the cultivation, harvest and extraction of Italian extra virgin olive oil in the southern regions though, particularly in Sicily, Calabria, Sardinia, and Apulia.
Of all types of olive oil in the country, however, Italian extra virgin olive oils have the most health benefits. It has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties as well as good fatty acids and antioxidants.
